#496 EXO-RR3ALISM by Elisyan

Aspiring artist from Mexico, Elisyan sees the illustrating process as a therapy and a means of self-discovery. His strongly conceptual, signature style relies upon a whimsical, fantasy-driven world of characters and their exploits. His work addresses a balance of the beauty of nature and the perfection of technology. Elisyan is deeply interested by the world of manga created by Yoji Shinkaw, Tsutomu Nihei and Katsuya Terada. The sci-fi culture, dystopian and utopian fictions such as Ghost in the Shell, Akira, BLAME! and Ergo proxy, also futuristic novels and films are the primary influences in Elisyan´s work. Last summer Elisyan collaborated with the award winning creator of the Digital Village Metaverse Evelyn Mora, illustrating her vision of the future and today he illustrates the world of René Magritte.

This is the work where I tried to capture more artistic and conceptual by mixing futuristic and cyberpunk. It shows sensitivity just like the replacement of the natural with the virtual and non-existent and empty with the shock of a technological revolution, the external human face with a mechanical interior in a poetic map of human complexity.

Inspired by RENÉ MAGRITTE.
